PET CUP BRANDING / BUYER’S GUIDE
A clear cup does two jobs: it holds a cold beverage and presents the drink to customers. For cafés, bubble tea chains and beverage distributors, custom printed PET cups can also carry a logo and unify the takeaway experience. The sourcing mistake to avoid is treating printing as a final detail after the cup has already been selected.
1. Choose the PET cup model before preparing artwork
Capacity alone is not enough. A tall tapered cup, a short wide cup and a rounded cup may each offer different visible printing areas even when the nominal capacity is similar.
- Capacity: specify your serving volume and whether it includes ice.
- Dimensions: confirm the top diameter, bottom diameter and cup height.
- Surface and shape: request the printable-area dimensions for your selected model.
- Lids: approve the actual cup-and-lid pair, not just a nominal rim measurement.
For cup models and matched lids, start with the Jorange PET Cups product range.

2. What files should you send for PET cup logo printing?
An editable vector logo—such as AI, EPS or a print-ready PDF—is usually easier to prepare for production than a small screenshot. Your brief should also identify the desired print size and position.
| Artwork item | What to provide | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Logo file | Vector artwork where available | Maintains clean edges at the agreed dimensions |
| Color target | Brand color references, e.g., Pantone codes | Gives the printer a reference for color review |
| Placement | Front, wraparound, or specific area | Determines the practical layout on a curved cup |
| Small text | Readable fonts and any mandatory wording | Reduces the risk of illegible fine details |
| Quantity | Amount per cup size and artwork | Supports an accurate MOQ and cost quotation |
The specific print process and achievable detail depend on the chosen product and production equipment. Do not assume every PET cup style accepts the same artwork coverage or printing method.
3. Proof approval: what should the buyer actually check?
Before production, approve a proof that clearly connects the artwork to the cup model. Check the logo dimensions, placement, spelling, colors, visible margins, orientation and cup specification.
- Ask for a cup-specific artwork layout rather than only a flat logo image.
- Verify that the approved layout references the correct cup SKU and capacity.
- Clarify whether digital colors are indicative or a physical color standard can be used.
- Request a physical sample when color, alignment or visual finish is business-critical.
- Keep a record of the final proof version and written approval.
A digital mock-up is not a guarantee of the exact final ink appearance, and sampling arrangements may involve additional cost or lead time.

4. Common problems with custom PET cup printing
Artwork looks stretched on the cup
A design made for a flat rectangle may need to be adapted to the cup’s taper. Request an approved layout on the actual cup profile.
Colors differ from the screen
Screen appearance, transparency, ink, lighting and plastic surface properties can affect the perceived result. Agree on what constitutes acceptable color variation.
Lids were not included in the specification
Printing approval and functional fit are different checks. Verify matching lids, samples and packing requirements separately. Our PET cup lid options are a starting point for that discussion.
5. A practical RFQ template for branded PET cups
Product: PET cold-drink cup
Capacity / cup model: ____
Top diameter / height: ____
Logo artwork: vector file attached
Printing: colors / placement / coverage ____
Lid style and quantity: ____
Quantity per size and design: ____
Destination country / delivery terms: ____
Sampling and required documentation: ____
Accurate details at the inquiry stage are generally more useful than asking for a single generic “printed cup price.”
Frequently asked questions about custom printed PET cups
Can a transparent PET cup be printed with my logo?
Many product programs offer logo decoration on eligible PET cup models. Confirm the print method, design coverage and minimum quantity with the supplier for the specific model.
Can I use a PNG logo?
A sufficiently high-resolution PNG may help with discussion, but vector artwork is preferred for many print-preparation workflows. Ask your supplier which format they require.
Are PET cups intended for hot drinks?
Do not assume that a conventional clear cold-drink PET cup is suitable for hot beverages. Verify the specified product’s intended-use and food-contact conditions.
Will every size have the same MOQ?
Not necessarily. MOQ can differ by cup model, artwork, printing method or color. Confirm quantities for each individual SKU and design.
